Why do body builders eat low carb meals?

Yes and No, calories can be derived from the meal you ate, but depending on how many of those calories come from fat. Most of the body builders I know cut down on their carbs shortly before competition, in order to obtain definition, but power lifters eat more carbs for the energy consumption during competition, you need an organized diet plan depending on what you think your weaknesses are, size or definition.Carbohydrates are your body's fuel, cutting them out completely is not a good idea, restricting your carb intake will get you better definition, I know that for a fact! As far as a meal plan, go to your gym and ask a trainer, they love talking about their muscles, getting them to stop talking is the problem, it depends on the persons, size, weight, and gender. Having an organized meal plan, is more important then almost anything else, pro's will probably tell you the same thing, don't let them sell you on supplements, synthetic proteins and such, most of them can't even be absorbed by your body to begin with, the FDA's website has a few warnings about the more common ones. Always check if the supplements you are using is banned! Certain chemicals metabolize into other chemicals that resemble steroids, even over the counter ones! If you buy vitamins get them in liquid form, unless constipation is your goal!
